PROJECTED 2018 HOME TRENDS

After a plethora of research from sources Pantone, Houzz and Business Insider, Inman, House Beautiful, and Realtor.com we gathered our absolutely favorite projected home trends for 2018.

    What’s IN for 2018, and what’s OUT…

    GEOMETRIC PATTERNS are…IN

Start small with a throw pillow or a piece of art work, or go big and add wallpaper on an accent wall.

    WOOD TREATMENTS & ACCENTS are…IN
Wood ceilings, wood accent walls, wood tables, wood lamps! Just don’t do all of that in ONE room.
The natural element of wood, and the colors of wood are calming in home decor.

    MATALLICS are…IN
It’s time to sparkle and shine! The human eye cannot avoid things that are translucent or pearlized.

    COLORFUL KITCHENS are…IN
White kitchens are classic and timeless, but home owners are expected to start adding color to their kitchens to warm and brighten them.

    LAVENDER is…IN
Lavender represents beauty and femininity. In nature lavender flowers are considered delicate and precious because of their rarity.

    FLORAL PRINTS are…IN
When adding floral prints to your home design, go BIG. Tiny floral prints can look dated, think 1970. Bigger flowers and prints, though, are IN.

WHITE & STAINLESS STEEL SINKS are…OUT
Houzz predicts a trend towards sinks in gritter textures and warmer hues.
Concrete, stone, copper and granite composite sinks in black, grays, bronze.

    BRUSHED METAL APPLIANCES are…OUT
Instead, there will be a trend toward matte appliances.

Love the “COLORFUL KITCHENS” so much! But the florals are my biggest apassion. This year I’m going to renovate my kitchen and I’m surely adding some color and floral accents. Ialways use fresh flowers to change the mood at home, but I’m definitely using more than fresh flowers only this time.

I love florals in home design too! We’d love to see some pictures when you do your renovation 🙂
