If you’ve been around the Springfield area for a while now, then you (should) know about the magic that is Pineapple Whip. If not, we highly recommend checking it out!

Pineapple Whip has graced Springfield with its presence for over 40 years now. In 1974, Dan Fortner created the original Pineapple Whip recipe and began selling it at the Ozark Empire Fair. After gaining significant popularity and constantly being asked by customers why they could ONLY get this sweet treat at the fair every summer and not on a regular basis, an idea was formed. Listening to their customers, Dan and his family decided it was time to expand and built mobile trailers that allowed them to sell Pineapple Whip all over Springfield.

    So…what is it?

Pineapple Whip is a frozen, dairy-free, soft-serve made with natural fruit juices. In fact, the original Pineapple Whip recipe that Dan created is still used to this day! Pineapple is the traditional flavor served, but they always serve a second flavor at each stand! Additional flavors include: Grape, Orange, Strawberry-Kiwi, Mango-Peach, and most recently Nana-Granate (which is banana/pomegranate).

Why are we talking about PWhip when it’s the middle of January?

BECAUSE WHIP SOLSTICE THAT’S WHY!!!! If you’re unfamiliar with the term “Whip Solstice” allow us to enlighten you. A couple of years ago, after hearing customers say that they wished they could get their favorite treat in the winter months as well, Pineapple Whip decided to open up for one weekend every winter-which happens to be THIS weekend!

    • Whip Solstice is this weekend January 18th-21st at their Campbell location from 12pm-10:30pm!
    • Available flavors are: Mango-Peach, Strawberry-Kiwi, and Pineapple-of course!

PLUS with the weather we’ve been having, it’s going to feel like summer this weekend-so go check out this 417 original and let us know what you think!
